History
Prior to creation, a preparatory university conference was convened by UNESCO and the Dutch government, 1948, Utrecht (Netherlands). Statutes adopted 9 Dec 1950, Nice (France); amended: 24 Sep 1955, Istanbul (Turkey); 12 Sep 1960, Mexico City (Mexico); 20 Aug 1975, Moscow (USSR); 12 Aug 1985, Los Angeles CA (USA); 25 Aug 2000, Durban (South Africa); 28 July 2004, Sao Paulo (Brazil); 5 July 2008, Utrecht (Netherlands).
