Founded Oct 1961, Paris (France), as Fédération internationale des bourses de valeurs (FIBV) -- International Federation of Stock Exchanges, to succeed H-XH2541 - Association of European Stock Exchanges, set up 1957. Current title adopted in 2002. Registered in accordance with French law.

Aims

Demonstrate the role, functioning and integrity of regulated markets; maintain a platform for professionals in the industry to discuss issues of common interest and to identify new approaches and solutions which enhance the competitive position of regulated markets; act as a central reference point for the industry by offering members guidance in the process of international harmonization of business practices; create, develop and maintain cooperative relationships with regulators so as to advocate the benefits of exchange self-regulation within the total regulatory framework in both national and international environments; support emerging exchanges in their efforts to develop markets which function according to member standards, thus contributing to global respect for the norms of a well-regulated industry.
