History
1984, St Michael (Barbados), at official inaugural ceremony and seminar, having been informally launched in 1983, Trinidad, when regional teachers of English met to mark D-XD5631 - Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) examination papers. No recent activity reported since 1993.
Aims
Promote excellence in teaching and use of English in the Caribbean; promote and maintain a spirit of cooperation between teachers of English in the region, and between teachers of English and other concerned persons; promote and encourage awareness of developments in techniques for the teaching of English; involve all elements of the community in the use of English; disseminate information and materials to assist in the teaching and practice of English.
