7 Feb 1992, Maastricht (Netherlands), following an Agreement, 7 Dec 1991. Also referred to in English as: Maastricht Treaty on European Union: Maastricht Treaty on Political Union; Union Treaty, and by the initials TEU. Title II: Provisions amending the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community with a view to establishing the European Community. Forerunners were: T-XT5133 - Treaty Establishing the European Coal and Steel Community (Treaty of Paris); T-XT5765 - Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU); T-XT5766 - Treaty Establishing the European Atomic Energy Community (Treaty of Rome); T-XT8633 - Single European Act (SEA). Complemented/amended by: T-XT9706 - Treaty of Amsterdam, signed 2 Oct 1997; T-XT2073 - Treaty of Lisbon, signed Dec 2007.
