History
Founded during a conference held by H-XA3491 - World Confederation of Organizations of the Teaching Profession (WCOTP). Constitution revised 1958 and 1968. Current constitution adopted 1973. Bylaws revised 1968, 2003, 2014 and 2023. Permanent secretariat created 22 Jul 1968.
Aims
Improve educational experiences and outcomes of learners in all parts of the world by providing opportunities for those involved in their education to share knowledge, practice, resources and expertise, establish active partnerships that are designed to enhance the quality of teaching and learning and improve life opportunities for young people.
