Founded 20 Jun 1947, Paris (France). Previously referred in English as International Union of Testing and Research Laboratories for Materials and Structures. Registered in accordance with Swiss law.
Aims
Contribute to the progress of construction sciences, techniques and industries, essentially by means of communication it fosters between research and practice; develop the knowledge of properties of materials and performance of structures, at defining the means for their assessment under laboratory and service conditions, and at unifying measurement and testing methods used with this objective.
