History
1975, following a resolution of S-XS0023 - World Food Conference, under the joint auspices of B-XB0971 - FAO, F-XF1393 - International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) and E-XE3382 - UNDP. Also referred to as Consultative Group on Food Production and Investment in the Developing Countries -- Groupe consultatif de la production alimentaire et de l'investissement dans les pays en développement. Ceased to exist 1978 due to lack of resources.
Aims
Encourage expanded contributions from external resources in favour of food production; improve coordination of donors' activities, whether multilateral or bilateral; promote better use of available resources.
Structure
Chairman nominated by President of World Bank in agreement with FAO and UNDP.
