History

1968, Geneva (Switzerland), as International Baccalaureate Office -- Office du baccalauréat international -- Oficina Bachillerato Internacional, in succession to International Schools Examination Syndicate (ISES) -- Service d'examens des écoles internationales, which had been set up, 5 June 1964, as an autonomous service of International Schools Association (ISA). Subsequently changed title to International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) -- Organisation du baccalauréat international (OBI) -- Organización del Bachillerato Internacional. Registered under Swiss law.

Aims

Develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

Cooperates state, international and private independent schools, offering one or more of the 3 programmes of international education for students aged 3-19: Primary Years; Middle Years; Diploma.
