The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

1934-03-30 Paris France

History

Established on the initiative of French government, taking over the activities of the International Commission set up 1905, Liège (Belgium), at 1st International Technical and Chemical Congress on Sugar Refining and Distilling, and of the International Commission formed after 1st International Congress of Pure and Applied Chemistry, 1894, Brussels (Belgium).

Subsequently also took over the functions of H-XH3114 - Permanent International Bureau of Analytical Chemistry of Human and Animal Food (PIBAC).

Aims

Promote agricultural and food industries in scientific, technical and economic fields; act as spokesman for food industries; develop information and consult with public authorities, agricultural producers, industrial equipment manufacturers, distributors, consumer associations and any organization concerned with promoting agricultural and food industries.
