History

Aug 1984, Geneva (Switzerland), at 1st International Conference of NGOs on the Question of Palestine, convened by E-XE0599 - United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People (CEIRPP), as an Interim Coordinating Committee (Article 7 of the Resolution). Most recent name adopted at 2nd International Conference on the Question of Palestine, Sep 1985, Geneva. Ceased to exist.

Aims

Study the best means to reach and inform public opinion; give to NGOs the tools necessary for their action in the various fields: political, human rights, and development; prepare, in cooperation with the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and the Division for Palestine Rights, the agenda on International and Regional Conferences; ensure that the resolutions adopted by International Meetings are implemented; work out ways of collaboration with the United Nations' Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People and the Division for Palestinian Rights.

Committee, consisting of 13 members elected by Annual International Conference every 2 years. Regional committees: U-XE3308 - African Coordinating Committee for NGOs on the Question of Palestine (AFCC); U-XE3309 - Asian Coordinating Committee for NGOs on the Question of Palestine (ACCP); U-XE3307 - Latin American and Caribbean Coordinating Committee for NGOs on the Question of Palestine (LACC); U-XK1610 - North American Coordinating Committee for NGOs on the Question of Palestine (NACC). Committee, consisting representatives of these regional coordinating committees and international NGOs at large.
