Thailand's Win to Host 2019 IEEE PES Grand International and Exposition

The prestigious Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ (IEEE) Power & Energy Society (PES) has chosen Thailand as the venue for its 2019 GTD Grand International Conference & Exposition, the first time this event will be held outside the United States.

The biennial conference, to be held at Bangkok’s BITEC center from 19 - 23 March 2019, is the world’s largest professional gathering for electrical power generation, transmission and distribution technologies, including generation from renewable sources, and is the umbrella for three concurrent specialized conferences and expositions in Bangkok:  Power Generation Asia, Transmission and Distribution Asia, and Renewable Energy Asia.

IEEE PES Thailand Chapter, the host of this grand event, expects 300 exhibitors to participate, attracting 10,000 visitors in the four days of the show, with 4,000 – 5,000 of those being international.

The choice of Thailand for the 2019 conference is a strong vote of confidence in the IEEE PES Thailand Chapter, which proved its worth as a host of the 2015 Innovation Smart Grid Technology (ISGT) Asia Conference, and was subsequently honored with the 2016 Outstanding Chapter Award.

This huge event has the full support of the Royal Thai Government through the ministries of energy, interior, and tourism and sports, as well as through the Thailand Conference & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB).  The scientific sessions and panel discussions with global CEOs, which are at the heart of the conference work, are supported by the Electrical Generation Authority of Thailand (EGAT), the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), as well as by the faculties of engineering from 15 of the best universities in the Kingdom.
