A New Addition to the Tampere Congress Ambassadors Network

Associate Professor Katri Lindfors from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology has been named the new Tampere Congress Ambassador. 

Associate professor Katri Lindfors has been in the organizing committee of numerous Tampere Celiac Disease symposia, and she is a board member in the International Society for the Study of Celiac Disease (ISSCD).

Tampere Congress Ambassadors are Tampere University researchers whose input in summoning and organising international congresses has been significant. They represent the international top of their fields and are influential actors in scientific organisations. When travelling abroad, Tampere Congress Ambassadors represent Tampere University and local scientific knowhow, and they encourage local researchers to participate in organisational activities and in the organising of congresses. A new Tampere Congress Ambassador is chosen annually.

The seven other Congress Ambassadors are professor Pertti Alasuutari from the Faculty of Social Sciences, professor Atanas Gotchev from the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences, professor Kalevi Huhtala from the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, professor Howard (Howy) Jacobs from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Technology, Research Director Tiina Soini-Ikonen from the Faculty of Education and Culture, professor Markku Sotarauta from the Faculty of Management and Business, and  Industry professor Kalle Vaismaa from the Faculty of Built Environment.

The Congress Ambassadors programme is part of the larger Ambassador network of the City of Tampere in Finland. Tampere Convention Bureau coordinates this sub programme.
