new research award: Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Award for Sports Research

news from the Académie Internationale des Sciences et Techniques du Sport (AISTS):

I am reaching out to let you know about a new sports research award that has just been launched, with funding per project available up to $120,000 USD. The call for research project proposals is now open until 15th of January 2021. http://pfra.sa/en/

The Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Award for Sports Research has been launched by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Sport. The Ministry of Sport’s Leaders Development Institute (LDI) established the Award to fund promising research projects. The Award is to support rigorous, intellectually ambitious and technically sound research that is relevant to the most pressing questions and compelling opportunities in sports. A total of $1,000,000 USD will be awarded.

The Award seeks to financially support scholarly work by PhD qualified researchers to develop new foundational knowledge, or build upon existing knowledge, that may have a lasting impact on the sports discourse in the context of Saudi Arabia.

The entries must be exclusive to the Award and be related to one of the following three topics; Youth and Grassroots, Coaching and Education and Public Health in Sport within the context of Saudi Arabia.

The AISTS has been mandated to establish scientific committees to determine the winners of this inaugural Award.

We are hoping you might be kind enough to share this exciting opportunity with your network to support future research in sport. If so, please visit http://pfra.sa/en/ for all the relevant information.

Kind regards,

Dr Claude Stricker
Executive Director, AISTS
