What is the International Congress Calendar?

The International Congress Calendar is the most comprehensive source of information on past and future international meetings organized or sponsored by international organizations. The entire database contains almost 250,000 events dating from 1986, and over 15,000 future events are included every year. All information is provided, or confirmed, by the organizations themselves and we take great efforts to confirm the authenticity of both organizations and events (fraudulent conference announcements are detailed here).

Current and past congresses are searchable geographically, chronologically and by keywords of the event theme. In addition, the huge number of events included in the Calendar also offers users unprecedented possibilities to study past meetings of any organization; their evolution in terms of size, frequency, focus and audience; to discover historical trends, and much more. Indeed, the meetings data compiled by the UIA is analyzed in great detail in an extensive annual International Meetings Statistics report provided free to UIA Associate Members as part of their subscription.

The meetings profiled are the key meetings of international associations and intergovernmental bodies, whether regional or multi-continental. The Calendar cross-references the Yearbook of International Organizations by using the same identification numbers for international organizations. This allows users to locate the description of an organization's aims, activities, membership, and history, including locations and dates of past meetings.
