Meeting Activity of the UIA
Meetings organized by UIA
International Congress on Congress Organization. This series of meetings was organized in order to clarify the logistical requirements of international conferences in order to improve the effectiveness of international meetings and the design of meeting environments. Congresses were held as follows: Lausanne 1960, Rome 1962, Copenhagen 1967, Barcelona 1970, Kyoto 1975. The congresses were held in association with bodies such as the International Association of Congress Centres (founded 1958), the International Association of Conference Interpreters (1953), the International Association of Professional Congress Organizers (1968). The series has been terminated as a result of the development of the successful development of a professionalized commercial conference industry. Symposia These have been organized to bring together association executives, scholars of international relations and representatives of intergovernmental organizations. Themes were:
Associate Members Annual Meeting These meetings in October of each year are designed to allow UIA Associate Members to develop better understanding of international organizations and the challenges of the international conference industry. Expert meetings
