Guidelines for Submissions to Transnational Associations

The editors of Transnational Associations welcome submissions of unpublished or previously published work related to the study of international organizations (IGOs and INGOs). To assist authors in preparing articles for submission to the journal, we have prepared the following guidelines and information.

Submission of Articles

Please submit your article on an IBM compatible 3.5 inch diskette using standard WordPerfect, MicroSoft Word, StarOffice Write, RTF, or other file format. Please identify the wordprocessing program and version used. One hardcopy (printout) of your article, in triplicate, should accompany the diskette. Copyright of original material will be vested in the publisher.

Length

Manuscripts may vary in length approximately from a minimum of two or three to a maximum of fifteen single-spaced, one-sided typed pages, including graphics, tables, endnotes/footnotes and bibliography. Authors of longer unpublished pieces should contact the UIA concerning the possibility of producing a special publication.

Cover Page

A cover page should accompany your article and should include: title of article, author's full name, complete contact information (post, phone, fax, e-mail address, website), a brief biographical note (20 words maximum). The cover page should also include any additional relevant information about the submitted article: copyright information, previous publication information, availability in other languages or versions, location on the World Wide Web etc.

Abstract

While not required, an abstract of up to 200 words is welcome. The abstract may be used to provide other-language information on the article.

Language

Transnational Associations/Associations Transnationales publishes articles in English and French, occasionally in Spanish. Articles and abstracts are accepted in any of these languages. Authors writing in English may submit articles using either British or American standard English.

Format and Style

The editors and publishers are responsible for the layout and typesetting of the magazine. Therefore the materials you submit should have a form that is as clear as possible and which should conform to the following points:

    a. Paragraphs are indented and are separated by a blank line.

    b. Main headings: are typed completely in capital letters.

    c. Sub-headings: are typed in lowercase letters and italicized.

Bibliography, Text References, and Endnotes or Footnotes

The editors remain flexible concerning the styles used for these matters. Use of a standardstyle (eg Modern Language Association (MLA)) is recommended. If you would like further clarification on this matter, please contact the editors.

    Reference in Text: none

Endnotes and footnotes: on a separate sheet, in the form of the following examples

Graphics (Tables, Figures and Diagrams)

All graphics should be submitted in camera-ready form. Where possible, a separate file for the graphic should be included on the diskette with the text file. Please use standard graphics file formats (.tiff, .bmp, .jpg, .png, etc.)
