My favourite spots: Top three restaurants:

The 5 Senses Restaurant, Cascais, is based on the current success of the concept of gastro-pubs in London that breathes creativity. The emblematic restaurant embodies the draft from the owners Isabel Pinheiro and Diogo Simões. It is an old building house, where you live in an atmosphere of charm. It comprises a contrast between the classical and decorative urban spirit, focusing on the performance of young musicians and exhibitions of new artists.

Restaurante Esplanada das Furnas. Speciality: Grilled food. Among the most popular dishes of the region is the Striped Bass, Sargo, or the unrivaled Cascais Sole, all of which are always fresh and prepared with the finest ingredients. Of course, the sea offers much more.

Restaurante Peixe na Linha. Speciality: Fresh grilled fish and traditional Portuguese food. Opened since May of 2006, the restaurant "Peixe na Linha" is situated on the Atlantic Ocean with a breathtaking view of the beautiful Cascais bay. The restaurant can seat 100 people. With an impeccable service "Peixe na Linha" is known for always having fresh fish, which makes the honors of the house.

Top three bars:

In the centre of Cascais, the terraced cafés are excellent places to spend the end of the afternoon, whilst making your plans for the rest of the evening. The bars at Camões Square are a great starting point for a fun night.

Just beside the Hotel Atlantico is the BG Bar, which belongs to Bar do Guincho. Using the localization of the centenary Vivenda Bela, on the top of the cliff, the BG Bar enchants anyone who enters due to the view its terrace offers, with the ocean just in front. The bar has a colorful and charming interior space. The dining room, with its walls made of glass, and the bar, are very pleasant and cozy. Its casual-chic style mixtures cultures and atmospheres and what used to be a Moroccan room two months ago is now a well equipped wine cellar.

The Casino Estoril is the largest in Europe. It is an important centre of entertainment, offering as it does a variety of different types of game, as well as a vast range of entertainment, with night-time music and variety shows that can be enjoyed in a sophisticated atmosphere. Nearly all the top current Portuguese and international performers of contemporary light music have appeared at the Casino’s “great Black and Silver hall”, considered the most international venue in the country. This hall may be hired exclusively for dinners and shows, to groups of up to 1000 people.

Top three hot spots:

Casa das Histórias Paula Rego is a project conceived by the architect Eduardo Souto Moura. With a contemporary feel to it, this museum reflects aspects of the architecture of the region and stands out in the landscape because of its two bright red pyramid structures. The project came about as a tribute to the respected painter Paula Rego and the architect’s choices correspond to the artist’s own wishes.

Walks in the Cascais "Paredão". After the beach or pool, the late afternoons may be spent with a walk on the by-the-sea route, known has "Paredão", between Cascais and São João do Estoril, that has showers available for the visitors, water spouts, rest benches and good lights, for the course of 3 kilometers. Our visitors may also explore a set of routes near the coast from which it is possible to observe the rich natural heritage of the region.

Casa de Santa Maria. Built in 1902 in a prime location overlooking Cascais Bay, this palatial house of extraordinary beauty is the work of Jorge O’Neill. Developed by Raul Lino, the project’s architectural style is typically Mediterranean with lots of natural daylight and strong arab influences, including some impressive iron arches and decorative tiles. The richness of the house’s interior is highlighted by some exquisite 17th century painted tiles and a delightful oil-painted wooden ceiling.
