Proposed 2009, Geneva (Switzerland), at 3rd World Climate Conference by Heads of States and Government Ministers. Office set up 2011, within B-XB3556 - World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Aims
Enable better management of the risks of climate variability and change and adaptation to climate change, through development and incorporation of science-based climate information and prediction into planning, policy and practice on global, regional and national scales.
