The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).
History
Registered in accordance with Belgian law. Also referred to as European Open Systems Association. Formally wound up, 31 Dec 1997.
Aims
Increase public awareness of and confidence in open systems as a practical solution to problems of system interoperability; accelerate the integration and use of open system norms in products; support the implementation of interoperable applications by provision of a cooperative multivendor testing and demonstration environment.
