The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
Founded by G-XG4005 - Institut de l'audiovisuel et des télécommunications en Europe (IDATE) and G-XG0974 - SPRU - Science and Technology Policy Research.
Initially founded as an F-XE0630 - European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG). Developed into a collaborative research network among 15 institutions.
Ceased to exist, 2006.
Aims
Create an open intellectual environment for the design of policies for Information Communication Technology (ICT); strengthen European and international ICT research infrastructure; bridge between the academic world, the ICT industry and the policy-making arena.
