History

1992, Strasbourg (France), as a partial and enlarged agreement of Council of Europe (CE), following: decision of 2nd Ministerial Conference of Audiovisual Eureka (AVE), 12 June 1992, Helsinki (Finland); adoption of Resolution (92) 70 of Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, 15 Dec 1992; adoption of Resolution (97) 4 of Committee of Ministers, 20 Mar 1997; adoption of Resolution (2000) 7 of Committee of Ministers, 21 Sep 2000.

Aims

Provide a means of accessing reliable Europe-wide information for government bodies, authorities and professionals working in the European audiovisual sector - television, cinema, video, DVD, on demand audiovisual services, Internet and also public policy on the audiovisual sector; ensure greater transparency within the audiovisual sector via the circulation of audiovisual-related information in the form of products and services. Major areas: improving understanding of the market and enhancing its transparency by covering economic context and financing of audiovisual works; detailed coverage of European and national legal questions relating to the audiovisual sector.
