The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
1972, Cairo (Egypt), within the framework of D-XD2903 - League of Arab States (LAS), pursuant to Arab Economic Council resolution no 563 taken on 10 Dec 1972. Ceased to exist.
Aims
Coordinate cooperation between the League of Arab States and its agencies and specialized organizations and unions; centralize specialized agencies work programmes in order to avoid duplication; share and distribute these programmes between the different Arab League agencies according to their field of interest.
Structure
Committee (meets twice a year), consisting of Coordination Committee, Sub-Committee, and sectorial committees (9) on: agriculture, industry, transport and communication, manpower and administration development, statistics, documentation and information.
