History

Charter approved 10 Jul 1967, Brussels (Belgium) as an international association with scientific purposes. At the occasion of 50th anniversary in 2017, Royal recognition was conferred by King Philippe of Belgium.

Aims

Act as the focal point for the steel industry and as such provides global leadership on all major strategic issues affecting the industry, particularly focusing on economic, environmental and social sustainability; promote steel and steel industry to customers, the industry, media and the general public; assist members to develop the market for steel, with major projects in the construction and automotive sectors; promote market competition that is free of government interventions preventing fair trade.
