History
1949, London (UK), during 14th International Veterinary Congress, as International Women's Auxiliary to the Veterinary Profession (IWA) -- Association internationale des femmes de vétérinaires -- Asociación Internacional de Señoras de Médicos Veterinarios (AIEMV). Current title adopted 1987, Montréal (Canada), when spouses of women veterinarians were accepted as members. As of 2009, ceased to exist.
Aims
Develop the prestige of the veterinary profession; unite spouses of those in the veterinary profession in a feeling of friendship and mutual aid; exchange hospitality, with particular emphasis on youth exchange; work in the cause of peace.
