History
Founded by Finnish Bandy Federation, Norwegian Bandy Association, Russian Bandy Federation and Swedish Bandy Association. Current name adopted during Congress, 2001, Budapest (Hungary), according to request by IOC the same year, with acronym IBF being occupied.
Aims
Promote the sport of bandy; share and keep in practice the principles and articles of the Olympic Charter, including the policy with regard to anti-doping controls; promote overall development of bandy and rink-bandy sports within member countries and carry on propaganda for the importance and advantages of the sport; promote introduction and membership of new nations to FIB.
