History
Founded to unify the valve industry associations in the original 6 European Economic Community countries, following contacts on European cooperation since 1947.
Reorganized 17 Oct 1986, Dubrovnik (Yugoslavia).
Aims
Harmonize national technical and economic regulations; exchange economic and technical information and ensure reciprocal contacts between specialists, organizations and their member-firms, thus contributing to an improvement in market conditions and a growth in productivity; promote standardization of European specifications, preparing recommendations within the framework of international standards bodies; improve quality of products; strive for standardization of conditions of sale and commerce.
