History
1 Nov 1969, London (UK), on approval of the constitution at final meeting of Offshore Rules Coordinating Council (ORCC), replacing the ORCC, which had been set up 1961, London. Ceased to exist when amalgamated into committee structure of B-XB2824 - World Sailing, Nov 2000.
Aims
Regulate and encourage yacht racing under its racing rules; act as recognized authority of ISAF for establishment, management, amendment and administration of International Offshore Rule (IOR), International Level Class Rule (ILC), Measurement Practice, Special Regulations and Championship Rules for Offshore Classes; act as sole international authority for establishment, management, amendment and administration of the International Measurement System (IMS) and ORC club.
