History
1984, with the title Advanced Technology Alert System, as a part of the endogenous capacity building programme of the former H-XE4350 - United Nations Centre for Science and Technology for Development (UNCSTD). Currently comes within the framework of E-XE3381 - UNCTAD. Current title adopted 1993.
Aims
Assist in promoting and strengthening appropriate national, regional and international mechanisms and capabilities for forecasting and assessing implications of new technologies; provide a means for translating general observations and insights in technology assessment into the mainstream of socio-economic planning at national and regional levels.
