History
Founded following Constitutive Committee having been set up in 1971. As of Oct 2007, takes over activities of European component of DentEd, a Thematic Network funded by F-XF2147 - European Union (EU) since 1997. Current Bylaws and Constitution approved at General Assembly, 2022.
As of 2023 takes over responsibility for the Erasmus Project O-Health-Edu which sets a vision for Change for Oral Health Professionals Education in Europe for 2030.
Aims
Promote advancement and foster convergence towards high standards of dental education in Europe; contribute to co-ordinate peer review and quality assurance in dental educaton and training; promote the development of assessment and examination methods; encourage exchange of staff, students and programmes; provide a European link with other bodies concerned with education, particularly dental education.
