History

Ceased to exist, 1997, on merging with H-XB3323 - Trade Unions International of Chemical, Oil and Allied Workers (ICPS) and H-XB2960 - Trade Unions International of Workers in Energy (TUIWE) to form B-XB0005 - Trade Union International of Chemical, Energy, Metal, Oil and Allied Industries (TUI CHEMISTRY-ENERGY).

Aims

Ensure, in the spirit of internationalism and working class solidarity, fraternal cooperation, international assistance and class solidarity between the trade union organizations of the workers in the metal industry of all countries; use all ways and means to achieve their unity of action and international trade union unity; coordinate and unite their activities and struggles in defence of the metalworkers' class interests and in improvement in their living and working conditions; defend and extend their trade union, economic, social and cultural rights and trade union and democratic liberties; support their main immediate, future and long-range democratic demands; contribute to social progress and the defence of peace, in keeping with the fundamental aims and the general policy of the World Federation of Trade Unions.
