History

Mar 1985, Paris (France), following recommendations of an international conference of universities, Dec 1984, Brussels (Belgium). 1st General Assembly, Sep 1985, Namur (Belgium), where the Secretariat and the Scientific Coordination is based. Also referred to as PRELUDE International. Registered in accordance with Belgian law.

Aims

As an international network, promote: university and scientific research concerning the main issues of technological, scientific, social and cultural development in North and South, in a perspective of sustainable co-development, based on international cooperation and giving priority to vital sectors (such as health, nutrition, communication, human settlements, heritage and water) and to scientific and participative expertise; hybridization of knowledge by exchange and cross-communication.
