Founded 1967, St Thomas (Virgin Is USA). Headquarters moved to Barbados in 1975. Registered in accordance with the law of Barbados; original By-Laws adopted, Jun 1995; last amended Aug 1995.

Aims

Create a greater awareness of priority issues and of the value of the Caribbean's natural resources; enhance the quality of life for present and future generations by facilitating development and implementation of policies, programmes and practices to contribute to the sustainable use of Caribbean natural resources; improve ability to manage these resources and ascertain on a continuing basis the needs of the region in relation to them; enhance access to and information exchange; identify and implement priority projects; promote integration of conservation into socio-economic development; improve links within the region and outside to develop a broad base for supporting activities for the conservation and management of natural resources.
