History
1979, as one of 16 centres in E-XE4468 - CGIAR System Organization (CGIAR). Operations in The Hague (Netherlands) closed 31 Mar 2004, following resolution adopted by Board of Trustees, 26 Nov 2003. As of 1 Apr 2004, relocated to Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). No longer exists under listed title. Currently operates as 'Knowledge, Capacity and Innovation Division (KCID)' of E-XE6331 - International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI).
Aims
Undertake research on how knowledge can be created, accumulated, shared and used to carry out technological, institutional, organizational and policy innovations in food and agriculture; use research results and other information to conduct advocacy and capacity strengthening activities for effective functioning of institutions, informatization and human resources.
