Founded as Amnesty International - European Community Project, within the framework of B-XB0054 - Amnesty International (AI). Previously also referred to as Amnesty International - European Union Association -- Amnesty International - Association de l'Union européenne and subsequently Amnesty International - European Association -- Amnesty International - Association européenne.
Aims
Strive for the adherence to and observance of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) by promoting human rights education and awareness and by demanding ratification of international human rights instruments; prevent and end grave abuses of the rights to physical and mental integrity, freedom of conscience and expression and freedom from discrimination.
