Apr 1950, within the framework of D-XD2903 - League of Arab States (LAS), according to article VIII of the Joint Arab Defence and Economic Cooperation Treaty, signed in 1950.
Aims
Ensure a climate of well-being and prosperity in Arab countries; raise living standards, cooperate in promoting their economies; explore their natural assets; facilitate the trading of their national agriculture and industrial product; and in general do everything possible to organize economic activity, to standardize it and to conclude the agreements necessary to attain such aims.
