History
Founded as the commercial but not-for-profit spin-off from E-XE4583 - International Information Centre for Terminology (INFOTERM), having previously functioned since 1979 as an informal network. Currently a fully independent association.
Aims
Serve as international cooperation forum to develop services and tools in the field of terminology and its applications; facilitate and promote members' services engaging in further development of the global terminology market and collaboration; promote quality in the field of terminology through partnerships, training and capacity building, certification and standards, and innovation; work specifically in the areas of: information and communication; classification and categorization; translation and localization.
