Mar 1973, Brussels (Belgium), as Liaison Committee of Rectors Conferences of Member States of the European Communities -- Comité de liaison des conférences des recteurs des Etats membres des Communautés européennes, or Liaison Committee of Rectors Conferences -- Comité de liaison des Conférences des recteurs (CLR), having evolved out of the Expert Group of the Universities of the European Community -- Groupe d'experts des universités de la Communauté européenne. Present name adopted 1 Jan 1996. Merged with H-XD3288 - Association of European Universities to form D-XD8329 - European University Association (EUA), Mar 2001.
Aims
Promote dialogue and cooperation between Member Conferences and between these Conferences and the European Union authorities; influence the policies of the European Union on, and provide information on key issues and developments in higher education and research and related matters.
