9-11 Oct 1991, Islamabad (Pakistan), at meeting held by Voice Against Torture (VAT) (Pakistan), as Regional Asian Secretariat for Rehabilitation of Organized Violence. Present name adopted 8 Dec 1994, Tagaytay City (Philippines). No recent activity reported since 1995.

Aims

Initiate advocacy efforts to prevent torture from taking place; assist in setting up rehabilitation centres for survivors; encourage cooperation among affiliates in training, research and documentation; motivate health and other professionals to work for rehabilitation of torture survivors.
