History
11 Apr 1981, Belgirate (Italy), in succession to H-XH1236 - International Broncho-Pneumologic Association. Also referred to as European Lung Society -- Europäische Gesellschaft für Lungen-Krankheiten. Ceased to exist, Sep 1990, when merged with H-XD0866 - Societas Europaea Physiologiae Clinicae Respiratoriae (SEPCR) to form D-XD2606 - European Respiratory Society (ERS).
Aims
Assemble in one large society all existing societies interested in chest medicine; found new special sections if not already existent.
