The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

1976. Statutes approved at 1st meeting of Supreme Council, 4 Apr 1977, Baghdad (Iraq). No recent activity reported since 1995.

Aims

Promote physical and mathematical sciences and improve their standard so they may play their role in developing society; preserve Arab scientific heritage and display its impact on the progress of human civilization; study scientific issues and exchange information and experience in various fundamental and applied fields; support scientific bodies in the Arab homeland and assist Arab physicists and mathematicians in forming such bodies in Arab countries where none exists; improve the social and moral level of Arab physicists and mathematicians and the standard of their scientific and practical competence; establish contacts with international scientific bodies and organizations and cooperate with them in matters serving the objectives of the Union.
