The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

30-31 Oct 1993, Altenhof (Germany), at 1st General Assembly. Previously also referred to in German as Europäischer Verband der Jugenddienst Organisationen. Registered according to French law. Ceased to exist, 31 Oct 2009, following an Extraordinary General Assembly.

Aims

Improve the comprehension between the youth of different countries and cultures so as to develop a "European Consciousness" of Europe's youth, youth trainers and social workers; create and further develop European and international cooperation between members; promote intercultural learning and fight against racism; improve the conditions of social politics which influence or determine the lives of young people, their social integration and professional development; assist member organizations with their bilateral or trilateral cooperational projects; promote cooperation and communication with other European and international organizations with similar goals.
