History
Founded as Section of Pharmacology (SEPHAR) of B-XB2752 - International Union of Physiological Sciences (IUPS). Independent Union established 1963 Prague (Czechoslovakia). Statutes adopted 1966, Sao Paulo (Brazil).
Aims
Promote international coordination of research, discussion, symposia, and publication in the field of pharmacology, including clinical pharmacology, drug metabolism and toxicology; organize permanent cooperation between representative societies throughout the world; contribute to the advancement of pharmacology in all its international aspects; cooperate with WHO in all matters concerning drugs and drug research; establish contacts with related international unions and sponsor joint scientific activities.
