History
1868, Algiers (Algeria), with the title Society of Our Lady of Africa in Algeria, by Mgr Lavigerie. First approval 16 Mar 1879. Final approval 15 Feb 1908. A Catholic missionary institute of priests and brothers living in community. Also referred to in French as Pères blancs d'Afrique (PB), in Italian and Latin as Missionari d'Africa -- Missionarii Africae and by the English acronym WF and the Latin acronym MAfr.
