Ensure participation of regional and local authorities in the process of European unity and in the work of the Council of Europe; promote and monitor functioning of local and regional democracy in the larger Europe; strengthen trans-frontier and inter-regional cooperation; deal with all questions of policy affecting local and regional authorities, including local and regional self-government, rural and urban development; advise and provide expertise to national authorities on issues relating to local and regional democracy.Available with paid subscription only.
