UIA's projects represent temporary endeavours, undertaken to create a specific product or service. Sometimes they are run soley by the UIA, but often we collaborate with one or more partners with specific expertise in the field of civil society and international organizations. UIA/Finergie project on Corporate Social Responsibility (2008-2009)

UIA/GlobeScan survey of international civil society (2007-2009)
The UIA has partnered with opinion researchers at GlobeScan on a unique survey of global civil society. The survey will tap international organizations' expertise and perceptions on major global issues, as well as views of civil society's role and impact in the world. Results will be widely publicized and will help to inform ongoing international debate. [Read more ]
Completed projects
UIA Thesis Prize (1999-2001)
The UIA set aside 6,000 EUR for a Doctoral Thesis prepared on a subject concerning the life, operations or work of international non-governmental organisations seen as components of the international civil society. [Read more ]
UIA/European Commission Ecolynx biodiversity project (1997-2000)
An INFO2000 Project of the European Commission, this project was a major extension of existing UIA work on mapping links between global problems and strategies. The objective was to link data on threatened species and habitats with information about responses by society to threats to biodiversity. [Read more ]
Interactive Health Ecology Access Links - IHEAL (1999-2000)
UIA/Verisign Diversitas bid for management of the .org registry (2001-2002)
The UIA proposed to host the .org registry, to establish it as an internet registry specifically for civil society. This differentiated TLD would have services specifically tailored for the global civil society community, which would enhance their access. [Read more ]
UIA/University of Paris study on NGO Security (1999-2001)
This project comprises a survey to organisations into security problems faced by NGOs. The results of the questionnaire are accompanied by a set of external links and resources on the subject of NGO security. [Read more ]
