Recent developments in specialised electronic meeting support software has created the potential for radically new approaches to Conferences. At appropriate stages in the agenda, delegates are now able to interact simultaneously and anonymously with each other through a network of notebook computers.
This approach to discussion encourages everyone to have an input while disempowering those who might otherwise dominate a normal meeting. The 'conversations' are captured and a report made available to all participants at the end of the meeting.
This innovative approach is already in use by many commercial and public sector bodies and will surely become a standard feature of conference activities.
We felt that the theme choosen for our annual meeting could not be better organized than by using these latest communication developments.
